Packaging - Quantities of the same marker are typically bagged together, but markers may also be bagged as kits or mounted onto sequence cards to facilitate assembly operations. Another option is for tubing to be partially cut and supplied in four-foot lengths or wound onto reels. Marker plates and tie wraps may be supplied assembled or as separate pieces.

Standards and Specifications Materials and processes are available for military, CSA, and UL requirements.  Pertinent military specifications include MIL-I-23053 and  MIL-M-81531.

Testing Certification Facilities and processes are available to perform special testing and certification.

Technical Support  GSI will help in selecting methods and materials for your applications.  Send us your drawings or performance requirements or give us a call for a quotation or technical service.

Wrap-Around Markers The use of a wrap-around type of marker may be indicated or required where it is impractical to install tubing. A variety of wrap-around marker styles are available.  When imprinted with the GSI hot stamp process, the legends on these markers are unexcelled for clarity and durability.

Markings or Legends Typical markings have gothic type with either white characters on dark material or black characters on light or clear material.  Symbols, logos or designs, and special colors for both marker material and marking foil are available by special order.

Shrink Range of Tubing Materials can be selected that will not shrink at all or will shrink from 25 to 50 percent of their expanded inside diameters when heated.  A form of PVC is the most popular non-shrinkable sleeve type marking material.  Non-shrinkable forms of silicone rubber and Teflon are also used frequently.

Marker Dimensions The number of characters per inch that may be imprinted and the number of lines of type that may be used are determined by the size of the marker that is required and the size of type that is selected.  One or both sides of tubing may be marked, but type heights must be controlled.  A rule of thumb for tubing length is to allow space for at lease three characters more than are needed.  When tubing lengths are not specified the shop maybe be instructed to produce lengths on a "best fit" basis.
